Step-by-Step Guide to Running Pathology Detection Tools - Tooth Wear
This article is relevant for Dx Plus users.
Introduction
This guide explains how to use the Tooth Wear detection tool in Dx Plus. The tool uses AI to assist in detecting and classifying tooth wear based on TRIOS 6 scan data. The AI analysis is based on visual patterns in the scan and classifies findings according to the presence of enamel wear or dentin exposure. This supports objective diagnostics and enhances patient communication.
Prerequisites
- Dx Plus subscription
- A valid TRIOS scan
- (Optional) DentalHealth App for patient communication
Steps
Step 1: Launch Dx Plus. Open the Dx Plus software on your device.
Step 2: Enable Tooth Wear Detection. In the AI assistive tools section, select Tooth Wear. Review and interpret AI-Generated Results. The software highlights suspected tooth wear areas directly on the 3D model using color-coded indicators

Step 3: Document and Share. Save the results for clinical documentation. Optionally, share findings with the patient via the DentalHealth App.
