This article is relevant for Dx Plus users.

Introduction

This guide explains how to use the Plaque detection feature in Dx Plus. The tool uses AI to assist in identifying and visualizing plaque deposits based on TRIOS 6 scan data. The AI analysis is based on visual patterns in the scan and highlights areas where plaque is likely present, supporting objective diagnostics and improved patient communication.

Prerequisites

  • Dx Plus subscription
  • A compatible TRIOS scan
  • (Optional) DentalHealth App for patient communication

Steps

Step 1: Launch TRIOS Dx Plus. Open the Dx Plus software on your device.

Step 2: Enable Plaque Detection. In the AI assistive tools section in the left functions panel, select Plaque

Step 3: Review and Interpret AI-Generated Results. The software highlights suspected plaque deposits directly on the 3D model. The visualization is based on the extent of surface coverage, with plaque identified on areas where it covers at least 25% of the tooth surface. Use the legend in the interface to identify affected areas.

Step 4: Document and Share. Save the results for clinical documentation. Optionally, share findings with the patient via the DentalHealth App.
