TRIOS Share Software Specifications
Minimum required version: TRIOS SW 1.18.5.56 (Unite 21.1) or later
Recommended version: TRIOS SW 1.18.6.6 (Unite 23.1) or later
TRIOS Share Network specifications
🔌 Wi-Fi Configuration
Standard: Use 802.11ac (5 GHz only).
Channel Management: If multiple access points are used, assign different channels.
Channel Width: Minimum 40 MHz (VHT40)
📶 Bandwidth Requirements (Per Scanner)
TRIOS 3 & 4: ≥ 70 Mbps
TRIOS 5: ≥ 90 Mbps
TRIOS 6: ≥ 112 Mbps (or 240 Mbps for HD scanning)
📡 Signal Strength
Ensure Wi-Fi signal is stronger than -60 dBm at the scanner location.
🔐 Firewall & Port Configuration
Bi-directional traffic must be allowed between the scanner and Dental Desktop PC.
TCP Ports:
TRIOS 3 & 4: 20–21, 80, 23796
TRIOS 5 & 6: 23796
UDP Ports:
Scanners: 58218, 58220–58230
PC/Router (opened by default): 67 (DHCP), 5353 (mDNS)
Disable traffic redirection for, e.g., Captive Portals
🧱 Firewall & mDNS
Windows Firewall rules are auto-configured during Dental Desktop installation.
Enable mDNS for scanner discovery.
🔒 Wi-Fi Security
All TRIOS scanners work with WPA2 Personal (WPA2-PSK) security, using either CCMP or TKIP encryption.
TRIOS 3, 4, 5 & 6 support WPA3 Personal (SAE) and mixed WPA2/WPA3 networks
TRIOS 3 & 4 with ManxLinux 2.6.8.X in ScanSuite 1.7.14.0 included in TRIOS module 1.18.6.4 and 1.18.7.4
TRIOS 5 & 6 with scan-os 1.16.0 in ScanSuite 1.7.14.0 included in TRIOS module 1.18.6.4 and 1.18.7.4
SSID and passwords are limited to printable ASCII characters, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII#Printable_characters
SSID: 1–32 characters (case-sensitive)
PSK: 8–63 characters (case-sensitive)
Note: Some Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz) and even some 5 GHz networks require WPA3. PCs with TRIOS SW 1.18.6.4 and 1.18.7.4 or later can upgrade scanners to WPA3.
👁️ Network Visibility
Do not use hidden SSIDs—they interfere with scanner discovery.
📍 Access Point Placement
Ensure direct line of sight between scanner and access point.
⚙️ Network Management (Ubiquity Settings)
If using Ubiquity:
Disable:
Jumbo frames
Flow control
Multicast enhancement
Multicast/Broadcast Control (or whitelist TRIOS scanners)
Client Device Isolation
Proxy ARP
BSS Transition
Fast roaming (802.11r)
DHCP Snooping
Set 802.11 DTIM Period to auto
Note: Consult access point user manual for specific details on configuration.
