Resolving "Unable to Load XML Document (XML Document Must Have a Top Element)" When Starting a Design In Dental Manager

The following error may appear when starting the design step for a scanned order in Dental Manager:

“Unable to load XML document (XML document must have a top element).”

Cause

This issue is typically caused by:

  • Corrupted scan files.
  • Corrupted XML files within the order.

Affected Versions

Potentially all Dental System versions.

Resolution

Step 1: Ask the sender to create a new order and import the scans again.

Step 2: If the issue persists, ask the sender to rescan the case and create a new order using the newly acquired scans.
