Difference between favorite and default materials

In this article we are going to explain the difference between the favorite & default materials and how to configure both options in Dental Manager. 

Favorite materials make it easier to select commonly used options by moving them to the top of the material list directly in the order form. You can enable or disable favorite materials at any time. 

Steps to manage favorite materials:

How to enable favorite materials

• In the order form, locate the list of materials
• Find the yellow star icon next to a material you want to mark as a favorite
• Click the star. It will turn yellow, and the material will move to the top of the list

How to disable favorite materials

• To remove a material from your favorites, click the yellow star next to it
• The star will change color, and the material will return to its place in the alphabetical list

Steps to manage default materials:

Setting default materials allows you to streamline the ordering process by automatically applying preferred materials to specific restorations.

Steps to configure default materials:

Select the Restoration and Material

• Open the order form
• Choose the restoration type (e.g. crown)
• Select the desired material (e.g. zirconia)

Save Default Settings

• Click on the "Save Default Settings" icon
• Confirm the current settings as default when prompted

Verify the Default Material

• Open a new order form
• Select the same restoration, as the result previously saved restoration and material will be automatically applied

You can configure default materials for any type of restoration, ensuring a smoother and more efficient workflow tailored to your needs.
