Exporting and importing material settings in Dental System

The export and import of the material settings provides an easy exchange of materials between the lab and the manufacturer. 

How to export material settings:

Step 1: Go to Dental System. 

Step 2: Select “Control Panel” and choose “Tools”.

Step 3: Select "Import/Export".

Step 4: Click “Export materials” to open the following window:

 

Step 5: Select the materials to export.

Step 6: Enter the library name, provider, version, and description, then select the library type.

Step 7: Select the Dental System version for which the materials should be exported from the Version drop-down list (available in Dental System 2017 and later).

Step 8: Select the "Lock exported materials" check box if the material settings should not be modified by the recipient.

Step 9: Export the materials either to a file by specifying a location to save the .dme file or to an FTP server by clicking the corresponding button.

 

How to import material settings:

Step 1: Request the .dme file from the manufacturer.

Step 2: Open Dental System Control Panel. 

Step 3: Select “Tools” and choose “Import/Export”. 

Step 4: Click Import materials to select the .dme file from its file location:

 

Step 5: Import and wait till the materials are uploaded:

 

Considerations for importing materials subject to FDA regulations

Be aware that some materials are not approved for use in certain countries due to FDA regulations and therefore cannot be imported.

 

Imported materials, libraries, and settings will appear in their respective sections of the Dental System Control Panel.
