Unite is a software where you may install different 3Shape Apps (based on the licenses on the dongle and the location).

How to select the type of Unite installation

It's important to install Unite in a way which is the most convenient for you and would be based on your setup in the office.

How to perform the installation

  1. Where to get installer:
    • For new installation - in the box on the flash drive.
    • For new installation - on Partner Portal in the relevant section.
    • For existing installation - you can take it from ProgramData folder -> folder ServerPackages.
      Default location of ProgramData folder is C:\ProgramData\3Shape\DentalDesktop\ServerPackages.
  2. It's recommended to run Dental Desktop installer as administrator to let the software have necessary permissions during the installation process.
  3. Select the type of installation -> Press Next -> Next.
    If customized data location selected you would need to press Next few more times.
  4. Confirm Destination folder (installation folder) location and press Install:
  5. Wait until the software installs all the required data and once it's done press "Finish":
  6. Dental Desktop will be launched -> select Default user for login.
    NOTE: For Client setup you need to select the Server to which you will be connecting -> right-click on Server name -> Add server -> type name of IP of Server PC and press OK:
  7. On first Dental Desktop login you will see Setup Wizard:
  8. Select the country in which the user is located and language:NOTE: Depending on the country you will receive software upgrades and relevant Apps versions so it's required to select the actual country where the customer is located.
  9. Configure User details (can be skipped by pressing "Later" and done in the software afterwards)
  10. Once setup is finished -> Dental Desktop will check which Apps and Dental Desktop version you may install:
  11. Once download and installation of Apps is finished -> Dental Desktop would restart, and the user may work with the software.
