Resolving "Failed to Morph Anatomy Shape to Its Die Interface" in Dental Designer

The following error message may appear when opening the "Anatomy Design" step in Dental Designer:

"Failed to morph anatomy shape to its die interface. Library tooth model is placed far away from the margin line. Please place it closer to the margin line."

This issue most commonly occurs when designing crowns and anatomical abutments.

Cause

The library tooth model is positioned too far from the margin line, preventing Dental Designer from morphing the anatomy to the die interface.

Resolution

Step 1: Move the anatomy as close as possible to the margin line.

Avoid positioning the anatomy too high above the margin.

Step 2: Reconnect the anatomy to the margin line.

Disconnect the anatomy from the margin line and connect it again using the "Sculpt Tools".

Step 3: Modify the anatomy and reconnect it to the margin line again.

Step 4: Verify that the anatomy is large enough to fully cover the inlay area.

Step 5: If applicable, consider using the tabletop indication instead.

Step 6: For anatomical abutments, open the "Abutment" step.

Step 7: Open "Emergence Profile".

Step 8: Switch between "Snap to Gingiva" and "Snap to Anatomy".

Step 9: Return to the "Anatomy Design" step and verify whether the issue has been resolved.

Step 10: If the issue persists, verify that the scans are positioned in the correct coordinates.

You can use "Shape Designer" or similar software to correct the scan coordinates.

Step 11: Create a new order using the corrected scans and repeat the design workflow.
