Resolving "An Error Occurred While CAM Output Generation. Error Message: The Specified Path Was Not Found" when Generating CAM Output

The following errors may appear when generating CAM output (F7) in Dental Manager:

  • “Manufacturing output could not be generated.”
  • “RawSTL: An error occurred while CAM output generation.”
  • “Error message: The specified path was not found.”

Cause

This issue occurs when the Manufacturing Output Directory configured in Dental System Control Panel is incorrect or unavailable.

Resolution

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 2: Go to "System Settings".

Step 3: Open "Data Output Directories".

Step 4: Locate "Manufacturing Output Directory".

Step 5: Verify that the configured path is correct. Edit the path if needed.

The default path for standalone systems is: C:\3Shape\ManufacutringDir\

The default path for server-client installations is: \\Server PC name\3Shape Dental System Orders\ManufacturingDir

For example: \\CO-LPT-PFL\3Shape Dental System Orders\ManufacturingDir\

Step 6: Save the changes and close "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 7: Open Dental Manager and generate the CAM output again.

If the Issue Persists

If the error continues after verifying the output directory:

  • Verify that the configured directory exists and is accessible.
  • Try creating a new order and generate the CAM output again.
  • If applicable, verify whether changing the selected material resolves the issue.
