How to configure or disable the relief wax tool

19 September 2024 | Updated 15.12.2025

There are two ways to add wax to a model:

  1. The Wax knife tool: The relief wax tool functionality is presented as a percentage, where 0% means no wax on the model and 100% waxed model. Once setting the desired percentage of wax on a model you can add/remove/smooth the wax by using the Wax knife. It may take a few seconds to calculate wax-up model.

2. Relief wax on the blocking out step: This feature produces an automatic proposal for fissure, margin, and interproximal waxing. This level of relief wax can be adjusted in the settings to control both the retentiveness or conversely the ease of insertion. It may help reduce direct contact with soft tissue, such as gingival margin.
