How to update your Dental System through CAT

With the implementation of Cloud License in Dental System 2024, a new functionality was introduced, ensuring that there's an easy option to update to the latest version. The Dental System can now automatically download the next version or patch release and prompt automatic software installation with minimal user involvement.

“New version is available" notification

  1. When the new version of the software is downloaded, a pop-up informs the user that a new version is available.
  2. It is necessary to click “Install” to confirm and start the installation. Upon confirmation, the system prompts the user to close all 3Shape applications. The installer launches automatically.
    When "Remind me later" is selected, the installation will be prompted on the next Dental System startup.
  3. The system starts the Dental System installer on the server and guides the user through the process of the installation.

Upgrade via Notification Button in Dental Manager

When the notification about the upgrade is initially declined, the user can start the update through a notification icon, which appears in the top-right corner of Dental Manager. Clicking it displays the upgrade prompt again.

Note: the Notification Button might not be available in Dental System 25.1.0. It is necessary to use the automatic “New version is available" notification
