Understanding Dental System Client Points
Understanding Client Points in Dental System
Dental System Client Points (Additional Seats) allow multiple PCs to use the same software subscription through a single dongle. Each Client Point represents one concurrent use of a specific software module on a separate PC.
Opening multiple instances of the same application on a single PC does not consume additional Client Points.
Checking Available Client Points
You can check the number of available Client Points using either Dental System Control Panel or Dongle Server Service.
Using Dental System Control Panel
Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel."
Step 2: Go to "Subscription Management (Dongle)."
Step 3: Review the number of Client Points available for each software module.

Using Dongle Server Service
Step 1: Open a web browser.
Step 2: Enter http://localhost:27027/ in the address bar.
Step 3: Review the detailed information about your available Client Points.

How Client Points Are Allocated
A Client Point is consumed each time a software module is opened on a different PC connected to the same dongle. Opening several windows of the application (e.g. several design cases) on the same PC will not take additional points.
The PCs currently using Client Points are displayed as IP addresses on the Dongle Server Service status page. An image below shows Dental Manager being open on 2 PCs using the same dongle.

When an application is closed on a PC, its IP address is removed from the connection list and the corresponding Client Point becomes available again.
Important Notes
- Some workflows require Client Points from multiple software modules simultaneously. For example:
- Single implant case: 1 Dental Designer Client Point + 1 Abutment Designer Client Point.
- Implant bar/bridge case: 1 Dental Designer Client Point + 1 Abutment Designer Client Point + 1 Implant Bars/Bridge Design Client Point.

- The Client Point count for the Dental Manager Inbox module represents the maximum number of unique sites that can send orders to your site through Manufacturing Inbox.
