Resolving "The Scanner Did Not Make Any Output Files" When Scanning in ScanIt Dental

The following error may appear when starting a scan in ScanIt Dental:

"The scanner did not make any output files."

Affected Versions

Potentially all Dental System versions.

Cause

This issue can have several causes, including:

  • The PC does not meet the minimum system requirements.
  • Required Windows components are missing or outdated.

Resolution

PC does not meet the system requirements

If the PC does not meet the minimum system requirements (especially graphics card requirements), this error may occur during scanning or post-processing.

Check the latest PC catalogue on 3hape Partner Portal or the Dental System User Manual for the current system requirements.

Required Windows components are missing or outdated

ScanIt Dental depends on several Windows components that are installed with Dental System. These components must be present and kept up to date.

Verify that the following components are installed:

  • Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 or later
  • SlimDX
  • .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later

Additionally

  • Install all available Windows Updates.
  • Install the latest graphics card drivers.
